Latin American & Latino/a Studies Training Goals

The LALS Program has four primary goals for its pupils:

  • The arts and the social sciences to understand Latin America and Latinos in the United States through the lenses of literature.
  • To research the precise historic conditions that have shaped—and continue steadily to shape—these communities.
  • To produce interaction abilities in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • To help expand understanding of the initial ways that artistic tradition, literary works, creative manufacturing, history, politics and economics intertwine for presentВ­-day people who start thinking about by themselves Latin People in america.

The Minor in Latino/a Studies
